This is an awesome location in Munnar with great views. The scenery is just like a child is taught in childhood days. This dam is better than Mattupetti dam. Kundala is located approximately 20 km from Munnar on the way to Top Station and it is at a height of 1700 meters above the sea level. People love to see the Cherry gardens here, that blossoms twice in a year and make the surroundings of the lake even more attractive. However, the famous Neela Kurunji flowers, which bloom once in twelve years and change the green valleys of Kundala into refreshing blue beauties, are hard to see, because of their rare availability. Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary in Idukki is home to the Great Grizzled Squirrel of India. Numbering less than 200, they are among the most endangered species on the planet. Its unique location in the Western Ghats has ensured it gets less than 2 months of rainfall annually. The wildlife along with the deciduous trees makes it an ideal spot for trekking aficionados.
The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary has mainly Dry Deciduous Forests, Wet Grasslands, High Sholas, Dry Thorny Scrub Forests, and Riparian Forests. Out of 1000 species of flowering plants, the rarely found species include Elaeocarpus Recurvatus, Arabica, Acacia Leucophloea, Santalum Album, Neelakurinji, and many more.

At a distance of 10 km from Munnar, Nyayamakad Waterfalls is a picturesque waterfall on Munnar - Udamalpet road close to the entrance of Eravikulam National Park. It is one of the highest cascading waterfalls in Kerala, and among the must-visit places of sightseeing in Munnar.
The water here drops from a height of more than 1500 meters cascading through rocks over several steps. The water is collected into a big pool at the bottom which is great place to spend some time during Munnar trip. This waterfall Is close to the Rajamalai entrance and can be visited along with Rajamalai / Eravikulam Park. It needs about 10 minutes walk from the main road.
Trekking is a popular activity here. One can enjoy the marvelous views of surrounding valleys of Western Ghats including Anamudi and other peaks. Trekking to some of the upper levels of the falls is possible through rock climbing though it's little risky in Monsoons.
Best time to visit Nyayamakad Waterfalls is post monsoon season between October and December.

Kolukkumalai is the world’s highest elevation tea plantation at 7900 feet msl. Kolukkumalai is without argument one of the world’s most beautiful scenic destinations. Started in the early 1900s the estate produces tea using the orthodox method in the time-tested tea factory. The Kolukkumalai tea estate is located thirty-five KM outside Munnar is built above the Tamilnadu's plain, atop the precipitous ridge. This place is at its best during the sunset; a lot of visitors stroll this place in evening to behold the spectacular views of Kodaikanal town, which looks extremely beautiful during the evening.
The Tata Tea Museum in the Nallathanni Estate tells the eventful story of Munnar; its transformation from an uninhabited stretch of forest land to a plantation town. The highlights of the museum include old machineries used for tea processing, photographs and some other curious displays that throw light on the efforts of some adventurous planters who dared to conquer the wild with minimal equipment and little resource.
